Although both Global Tasks and Regular Tasks are used for time tracking, they differ in how they are created, managed, and assigned.
| Feature | Global Tasks | Regular Tasks |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | Can be shared and reused across multiple projects. | Belong to a single project only. |
| Management | Managed centrally from the Settings page. Any updates are reflected across all projects where the Global Task is assigned. | Managed within the individual project where the task was created. Changes only apply to that project. |
| Task Status | The status of a Global Task cannot be changed (for example, it cannot be marked as completed). | Regular Tasks can be marked as completed or have their status updated. |
| Member Assignment | Members are assigned automatically when the Global Task is added to a project. Manual assignment or unassignment is not supported. | Members can be assigned to or removed from the task manually. |
| Visual Identification | Displayed with a Global Task icon in the web application, making them easy to distinguish from Regular Tasks. | Displayed without the Global Task icon. |
| Project Configuration | Global Tasks are managed centrally, but each project can control whether Global Tasks are allowed by navigating to Project Details → Settings and enabling or disabling Global Tasks for that project. | Regular Tasks are created and managed directly within the project and do not require any additional configuration. |

- Manage tasks from a single, centralized location.
- Ensure consistency across projects without creating duplicate tasks.
- Automatically assign project members to Global Tasks, reducing manual intervention.
- Optionally make Global Tasks available for future projects automatically.
